Culinary Adventures in Italy
A week of immersive culinary adventures, soaking up all the Adriatic coast has to offer.
This is not “turismo mordi e fuggi” (rapid-fire visitors who pop into historic cities or landmarks for just a few hours or a day, snap photos, strain local resources, and leave without spending much to support the local economy).
This is “turismo lento” where we shop local markets, meet winemakers and enjoy their wines, meet the cheesemakers and local artisans.
We’re in the process of moving to the Abruzzo region, on the Adriatic (east) coast of Italy. Once we’ve found the perfect place, we’ll be ready to host our first culinary adventures. Imagine a week of mornings at small-town markets, afternoons rolling pasta or picking olives, and evenings at a long table — unhurried, convivial, and very well-fed.
Dates and detailed itineraries are coming together. If this sounds like your kind of holiday, let us know you’re interested and we’ll keep you in the loop as soon as we’re ready to open bookings.
What to expect
Cook
Our hands-on sessions are casual and fun. You don’t have to be an experienced cook to enjoy and appreciate our sessions. From arrosticini to fresh pasta, we’ll show you why Italian food is so beloved and delicious.
Shop
Mornings at the market are a vital part of the culture of the Italian community. Vendors selling fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, cheese, olive oil, honey, nuts, bread, home goods and linens can be found daily in the streets of Abruzzo.
Taste
Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Pecorino and Cerasuolo wine, local olive oil, burrata and caciocavallo cheese tastings. Learn how they are made, meet the producers behind each of these local Abruzzese products and savour every bite.
Ride
La Via Verde is a stunning 42km repurposed rail line that is now a dedicated bike path along the Adriatic coast. You will have an opportunity to cycle some of the most stunning countryside you have ever seen.
