Privacy Policy
We ask only for what we need to answer your message. We don’t sell your information, and this site doesn’t use analytics or advertising trackers.
Who we are
Satiate is a private chef and culinary travel business. We started in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and we’re moving to the Abruzzo region of Italy. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through satiate.ca.
What we collect
When you use our contact form, we ask for your name, your email address, what you’re enquiring about and your message. The form also records your IP address, your browser type and the page you sent it from.
When you visit the site, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, browser types and the pages requested.
If you go on to book with us, you may share more with us directly, such as dietary needs or travel dates. We use those details only to plan and deliver your event or trip.
We don’t take payments or booking details through this website.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and follow up about the event or trip you asked about.
- To let you know when dates are set, if you’ve registered your interest in a Culinary Adventure.
- To keep the site secure and working, and to filter out spam.
We’ll only email you about what you asked us about.
Cookies and tracking
This site doesn’t use analytics or advertising trackers, and it doesn’t set cookies for visitors. The only cookies are the ones WordPress sets for site administrators when they log in.
Our fonts and images are served from our own site, so viewing a page doesn’t send your details to a font, video or social media service.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your information or share it for anyone else’s marketing. We share it only in these cases:
- With Hostinger, which hosts this website and our satiate.ca email.
- With Google, because messages from our contact form are delivered to a Gmail inbox.
- When the law requires us to.
Because we work between Canada and Italy and our providers operate internationally, your information may be stored or accessed outside the country you live in.
How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry for as long as we need it to answer you and to keep a record of our conversation and any booking, and then we delete it. Our hosting provider keeps server logs for a limited time. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time.
How we protect it
This site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and access to enquiries is limited to the people who need them to reply to you. No website or email system is perfectly secure, so please don’t send sensitive information such as payment details through the form.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it or delete it. You can also withdraw your consent to us contacting you. Just send us a note through our contact form and we’ll respond within 30 days.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the privacy regulator where you live. In Alberta, that’s the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta. In Italy, it’s the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
Changes to this policy
If the way we handle information changes, for example once our move to Italy is complete, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
